CAMELLIA

Client: Yorkshire Sculpture Park
Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire

We had the privilege of showcasing a monumental piece of public art that holds great personal and community significance, "CAMELLIA" in Rotherham town centre. Conceived by internationally acclaimed artist, James Capper, the sculpture draws inspiration from the rare Camellias that live locally at Wentwood Woodhouse's Camellia House.

As a Rotherham native, capturing this project was an honour. We chose to include impromptu interviews, and portraits to add personal depth and dimension to the narrative. The film not only portrays Capper's artistic journey and thought process but also traces the construction journey of the sculpture by MTL's first-year apprentices. In making this film, our aim was to illuminate and celebrate the various facets of Rotherham - its historical richness, industrial strength, and inherent craftsmanship.
